Offering students enrichment
through an online
learning environment.

Power Digital Academy provides our students an alternative to the traditional “brick and mortar” classroom. We offer students the flexibility of taking courses online 24-hours a day, 7-days a week

Our curriculum is aligned with the standards set by the Ohio Department of Education. Certified teachers welcome current PDA students for tutoring and assistance. A computer lab, located next to Carrollton High School, is available for use during school hours. Laptops will be provided for FULL TIME students accepted into this pilot program.

Unlike other digital schools, PDA provides the opportunity for students to participate in Carrollton School extra-curricular activities, such as athletics and the fine arts. PDA students are even allowed to attend prom. We also provide a Carrollton High School diploma upon graduation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need permission from my local school district to enroll in the new virtual school as a full-time student?

Students must first be enrolled as a Carrollton student. All students will be required to have guidance or principal approval to be accepted into the pilot online digital academy.

How much does it cost to attend the new virtual school?

The school is a tuition free public school.

Can I participate in extracurricular activities?

Unlike other digital schools, PDA provides the opportunity for students to participate in Carrollton School extra-curricular activities, such as athletics and the fine arts. PDA students are even allowed to attend prom.

Does the school give diplomas?

Yes. We provide a Carrollton High School diploma once all graduation requirements are meet.

If I become a student, can I work at my own pace and even finish earlier if I want?

Yes. The school is Internet based. It is open 24-7 throughout the regular school year. Students are required to meet deadlines quarterly to avoid truancy issues, but are also encouraged to "get ahead of the game" and complete more than the minimum.

How do I complete Physical Education in a virtual setting?

Students complete the physical education requirement by taking an online course which guides physical education routines that are recorded.

Will your school be responsible for administering the OGT and OAA tests for its students?

As an accredited high school, the school complies with all requirements for state testing standards. These tests will be administered and completed at a designated site within the Carrollton school district.

Are real teachers used to teach and guide students as they work on online courses?

Does a student who enrolls in Power Digital receive a computer system?

Laptops will be provided for full-time students accepted into this pilot program.  There are specific conditions of usage, but the system is available as long as the student is in good standing at Power Digital.
